Mountain Terraces Vineyard

Mountain Terraces Vineyard, part of the Ledson Collection, is situated within the Moon Mountain AVA in Sonoma County's Mayacamas range, soaring to 2,000 feet on its western slopes. The vineyard's unique terroir, characterized by rocky and iron-rich volcanic soils, supports a diverse array of varietals, including low-yielding Cabernet Sauvignon vines with multiple root stocks and clones. This deliberate approach yields wines with distinct layers of aromas, flavors, and textures. The winery produces two principal Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings: one showcasing the intense, brooding qualities of the red Basalt and brown Andesite soils, and another revealing the elegant expression of the white Rhyolite soil. These wines are only available to members of the Mountain Terraces wine club, which has a waiting list due to extremely limited production. The winery's focus on uncompromising viticulture and winemaking results in wines boasting depth and structure, as exemplified by Lex's Mountain Terraces Cabernet Sauvignon, a 96-point Cellar Selection from Wine Enthusiast, and Taylor's Mountain Terraces Cabernet Sauvignon, an elegant Bordeaux-style wine with exquisite complexity.
