Murder Ridge Wines

The winery's name and label are inspired by a "murder" of crows, while the events that led to its name are rooted in a true turn-of-the-century murder that took place on land now part of Perli Vineyards. In 1911, Pete Gianoli was accused and acquitted of murdering Joe Cooper, but later arrested again for making threats against residents and boasting about the crime. Gianoli's case ultimately ended with his commitment to a state hospital due to concerns over his sanity. Today, Murder Ridge Winery offers its premium wines from this unique and rugged region, where farming is often described as "in the wilderness." The winery invites visitors to experience their wines through tastings and shopping on-site, though reservations may be necessary for a comprehensive tasting experience.
