Newsome Harlow

Newsome Harlow is a winery singularly focused on customer experience, tailoring wines and stories to individual tastes. Based in the Sierra Foothills, specifically Calaveras County, they work with some of the region's greatest Zinfandel vineyards, producing small batches of wine that are becoming increasingly hard to obtain. Winemaker Scott Klann, with over two decades of experience, brings a wealth of knowledge and relationships to the table, allowing access to top-tier vineyards throughout California. Newsome Harlow's tasting room, located in downtown Murphys, is open Friday through Sunday, offering a small to medium-sized selection of wines, including Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Mourvedre blend, Meritage, and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery's philosophy emphasizes attention to detail, with Scott Klann walking the vineyards and stewarding the land to produce high-quality wines that please both aficionados and amateurs alike. Founded in 2000 as a partnership between Scott Klann, Mark Skenfield (viticulturist), and Hugh Swift, Newsome Harlow's downtown Murphys tasting room opened in 2005, offering a picnic area available at nearby Murphys park for visitors to enjoy.
