Northern Cross Vineyard

Northern Cross Vineyard is in Valley Falls, New York, inside the Upper Hudson American Viticultural Area and part of the Upper Hudson Wine Trail. The winery grows cold-hardy grapes on its own estate and makes them into handcrafted wines it describes as "new and delicious," working under the tagline "new wine from new grapes." Andrew Weber, who writes for the winery, is involved in its operations and business decisions. The tasting room is set up as a relaxed, seated space where guests choose how to spend their visit: tasting, touring, picnicking, using Wi-Fi, or simply slowing down. Staff explain winemaking without over-describing the wines, leaving judgments to the visitor. The room also shows original work by local artists, available for viewing and purchase during tasting hours, and those artists lead gallery talks and summer classes.
