Oakville Ranch is a 370-acre estate located in Napa Valley's prestigious Oakville AVA, situated at 1,000 feet above the valley floor. The winery is known for its Bordeaux varietals, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, which thrive in the appellation's signature red volcanic soil with a mountain accent. Founded by Mary Miner and her late husband Bob in 1989, the estate has gradually increased vineyard plantings to 68 acres, producing five wines and approximately 750 cases annually. Oakville Ranch prioritizes sustainability, implementing erosion control measures, planting water-conserving rootstocks, and encouraging biodiversity through habitat preservation for beneficial insects and raptors. The property remains largely in its natural state, with indigenous grassy meadows, native woodlands, and winding streams supporting native flora and fauna. Solar power supplies most of the ranch's needs, and expansive gardens, a citrus grove, and a 1937 Lord & Burnham conservatory surround historic structures on the property. The winery offers a range of wines, including the Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon ($125), Robert's Cabernet Franc ($140), and Chardonnay ($70). Visitors can explore the estate and taste award-winning wines at the Terrace Club, which also features expansive gardens and a citrus grove.
