Palouse Winery

Palouse Winery is a small, family-owned winery based on Vashon Island, Washington, founded by George and Linda Kirkish in 2003. The couple's passion for excellence and art led them to transition from running an airline and contracting business to pursuing a career in wine production. They began with half a ton of Cabernet Franc grapes from Portteus Vineyard in Rattlesnake Hills, Yakima Valley, which sparked their drive and passion for winemaking. With guidance from the University of California Davis's oenology program, Palouse Winery expanded to its current location on Vashon Island's north end in 2005. The winery produces approximately 1,400 cases of handcrafted wine annually, with each vintage showcasing improvement. Palouse Winery is known for its Cabernet Franc-based wines, and the owners' philosophy emphasizes a focus on quality and craftsmanship. Visitors can experience the winery's atmosphere by attending events such as live music performances in the garden, like the one scheduled for March 22nd featuring Steve Amsden on guitar. The tasting room is open Friday through Sunday from 12PM to 5PM at 12431 Vashon Hwy SW, Vashon, WA.
