Phantom Creek Estates

Phantom Creek Estates is a winery located in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1996 by pioneering viticulturist Richard Cleave, the estate has gained recognition for producing exceptional red wines, including three "Best Red Wine in Canada" awards. The winery's namesake vineyard, Phantom Creek Vineyard, is planted to Cabernet family varieties and Syrah, while Kobau Vineyard, originally an apple orchard, was replanted with Cabernet family varieties, Viognier, and Syrah in 2005. Under the ownership of Richter Bai since 2016, Phantom Creek Estates has transitioned its estate vineyards towards organic and biodynamic farming practices, achieving organic certification in 2022. The winery's focus on viticulture is evident in its meticulous approach to hand-harvesting and sorting grapes, with a goal of expressing the unique character of each vineyard in the final wine. Phantom Creek Estates' red wines are crafted using traditional methods, including hand-sorting, optical sorting, and fermentation in oak casks and barriques.
