Pheasant Hill Vineyard

Pheasant Hill Vineyard is a boutique winery located in the southernmost corner of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, within the Northern Willamette Valley. The vineyard was planted in Spring '07 with Pommard clone Pinot Noir grapes, which thrive in the region's eastern exposure, cool evenings, and deep jory soil. This gentle slope offers breathtaking views of the sun rising over Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, and the valley below. As a boutique operation, Pheasant Hill Vineyard produces limited quantities of hand-crafted wines, with Apolloni Vineyards in Forest Grove providing custom crush services by gifted winemakers. The wine is aged for 18-22 months in French Oak barrels before bottling. The Yamhill-Carlton AVA's unique combination of ancient marine sediments and a rain shadow effect creates an ideal environment for Pinot Noir, producing wines with complex flavors, deep color, and smooth tannins. With its small size (approximately one square acre) and exclusive distribution, Pheasant Hill Vineyard's wines are highly sought after by those in the know.
