Plain Cellars

Plain Cellars is a family-owned boutique winery in Plain, WA, situated near Leavenworth in the mountain community. The winery focuses on small-batch wine making with high attention to quality and taste, producing 11 wines, including two dry whites, eight reds, and a Port-style dessert wine. Their signature blend, Summer Solstice Red, has won four medals in its first two vintages. Plain Cellars sources grapes from top growers in Washington State, such as Upland Vineyard for Chardonnay and Stone Tree Vineyard for reds. The winemaking process involves hands-on techniques, including small-lot fermentations in 1-ton bins and native fermentation for Riesling and Chardonnay. The tasting room features a large covered patio with a rustic setting amidst the Cascades, offering wine tastings and food pairings through their A Taste of Plain program. Private events, such as Winter Dinners and Music Series, are also hosted on-site. With a production capacity of approximately 2,000 cases, Plain Cellars has grown significantly since its inception in 2005 when it was founded by Bob and Roxanne Sage with the help of Kevin Lantz of Lantz Cellars.
