Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery

Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery is situated within the El Pomar District, nestled in the heart of Paso Robles AVA along California's Central Coast. The Merrill family has a long-standing agricultural heritage, with grape growing history spanning at least eight generations on the region. Today, Dana and Marsha Merrill, alongside their son Matthew, manage the vineyards, while Matthew collaborates with winemaker Jim Shumate to produce award-winning wines that showcase the terroir of each site. The winery focuses on small-lot, food-friendly wines crafted using sustainable vineyard management techniques and a commitment to control throughout the entire winemaking process. Pomar Junction's grapes are sourced from both their estate vineyards in Paso Robles as well as select blocks in Santa Barbara and Monterey Counties managed by Mesa Vineyard Management, Inc. The family has achieved SIP certification through the Central Coast Vineyard Team, demonstrating their dedication to sustainability. With a strong emphasis on community involvement, Matt Merrill, owner and general manager, brings a deep understanding of viticulture and winemaking to the operation, having studied at Cal Poly University before joining his father's vineyards.
