Rose Hill Farm Winery

Rose Hill Farm has been a working fruit farm since 1798 and began making low-intervention wines, ciders, and co-ferments in 2018. The winery sits in New York's Hudson Valley, with its cellar located directly beneath the tasting room in the center of the farm and orchards. The team works with fruit grown on the estate and sources grapes from like-minded farmers, fermenting with native yeast in a small cellar. Wines are unfined and unfiltered with no additions or subtractions beyond occasional trace sulfur at bottling, which is noted on labels. Production is deliberately hands-on, using tools such as hand destemming boards and a manual basket press; sparkling wines are hand riddled and hand disgorged after long lees aging. The range spans apples, quince, pears, peaches, cherries, and plums alongside vitis vinifera and hybrid grapes. Spent pomace is composted on the farm and returned to the orchard. Visitors can taste and purchase wines and ciders year-round at the taproom. For a deeper look, the Orchard to Glass experience offers a private cellar and orchard tour with guided samples of four to six current releases, led by a member of the cellar team.
