Running Hare Vineyard

Running Hare Vineyard sits in Prince Frederick in Southern Maryland, roughly 55 minutes from Washington, D.C. and 40 minutes from Annapolis. The property grew out of more than 45 years of affection for wine that began in the vineyards of Southern France, and the owners set out to evoke the gentle hills of France, the beauty of Tuscany, and the feel of Napa through their chosen vines and barrels. The winery produces red, white, and rosé wines ranging from dry to sweet. Bottlings include Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Vidal Blanc, Malbec, Sangiovese Reserve, and house blends such as Jack Rabbit Red, Roots, The Magician, and Vanishing Act. The vineyard draws on Southern Maryland's rolling hills, warm summers, and well-draining soil, and the winery emphasizes local sourcing and sustainable practices. Visitors can taste wine in a relaxed setting, sample local craft beers in the Biergarten, catch live music, and bring their own food to enjoy outdoors. The Tuscan-style grounds also host weddings, private parties, corporate events, and seasonal gatherings.
