Schmidt Family Vineyards is a family-owned and operated winery located in the Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon, with a history spanning over two decades. Founded by Cal and Judy Schmidt in 2000, the vineyard has grown to encompass 45 acres of estate-grown vines, featuring 20 different varietals including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, Albariño, Pinot Noir, and others. The winery utilizes sustainable practices such as composting, mulching, and mechanical cultivation to maintain the health of their vineyard, which is situated on a fertile south-facing slope with loam and clay soils. With a focus on producing clean, full-bodied wines, Schmidt Family Vineyards has earned numerous awards and accolades, including "Editor's Choice" from Wine Enthusiast and "Best in Class" from the San Francisco Chronicle.
