Serpent Ridge Vineyard

Serpent Ridge Vineyard is a family-owned boutique winery and vineyard in Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland, established in 2004 and opened to the public in 2009. The tasting room overlooks the vineyard, and most seating is outdoors on the lawn, in a pavilion with fire tables, on a covered patio, or in the garden. The winery grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, and Chardonnel on site and sources additional fruit from Maryland growers. Winemaking is done in small lots using old-world techniques alongside modern technology, with aging in stainless steel and flex tanks as well as American and French oak. The lineup includes dry reds, dry whites, rose, and lightly sweetened wines, and the wines have won awards in competitions including the Maryland Governor's Cup and the Comptroller's Cup. Visitors can taste wine by the flight, glass, or bottle, with snacks such as local cheese, chocolates, and sausage available. The winery hosts events throughout the year, including live music, food trucks, yoga in the vineyard, and wine and food pairings.
