SMAK Wines is a Walla Walla-based winery founded in 2018 by Fiona S. Mak, the first Asian woman from Hong Kong to own a winery in Washington State. Mak's vision for SMAK Wines revolves around promoting a year-round Rosé lifestyle, inspired by her experience of drinking Rosé during sunny days in the French Riviera. The winery produces four distinct Rosés, each modeled after a season: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. These still Rosés are crafted from single vineyard sources or single grape varietals, showcasing unique qualities of Washington State's vineyards while maintaining an approachable style with 0g residual sugar, low alcohol, and vegan-friendly characteristics. SMAK Wines offers private tastings by appointment and pop-ups until they find a permanent home in Walla Walla. The winery is also involved in various events, including the Kirkland Uncorked festival, and prioritizes diversity through its BIPOC ownership status.
