Sobon Estate

Sobon Estate is a family-owned winery located in Amador County, California's Sierra Foothills region. Founded in 1977 by Leon and Shirley Sobon, the winery was established on the idea that amazing wine should be sustainable and affordable. The estate has been recognized for its award-winning wines, with a focus on varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Dry Rosé. The winery offers two tasting rooms: one at the Sobon Estate Museum and Winery, which features a wide selection of wine varietals and maintains a consistent menu of white wines, red wines, and dessert wine; and another at Shenandoah Vineyards, which sits atop a hill overlooking the valley. Both locations offer wine tastings, shaded picnic tables, dog-friendly atmosphere, and limo and bus parking. The winery also participates in various wine clubs that offer exclusive releases and expertly crafted varietals. The Sobon family's history with winemaking dates back to 1977, when they planted their first vineyards on the old Steiner Ranch. Leon's passion for home winemaking eventually led him to pursue a career in winemaking, and he and Shirley began looking into land in Amador County before making the move from Los Altos, California. The family has since grown nationwide and internationally, with Sobon Wine Company, LLC now operating as a small Nor-Cal winery dedicated to producing affordable, award-winning wines.
