Soquel Vineyards is a family-owned and operated winery nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains on the coastal side. Founded in 1987 by Peter & Paul Bargetto and Jon Morgan, the winery focuses on producing wines that showcase the unique characteristics of the region, with an emphasis on integrity and sense of place. Soquel Vineyards is particularly known for its Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay wines, which have gained local popularity and critical acclaim over the years. The winery's estate vineyard, planted solely to Pinot Noir, spans 3 acres of their 5-acre property, offering stunning views of the surrounding hills and Monterey Bay on a clear day. The winery itself features handmade Italian tiles from the 1700s, handcrafted cellar doors made from salvaged redwood tanks, and a driveway lined with Italian cypress trees planted by the founding partners. Soquel Vineyards is committed to producing only the best wines, with Peter, Paul, and Jon still involved in day-to-day operations. Visitors can experience the winery's tasting room, which offers exclusive access to new and limited releases of wine for members, as well as complimentary reserve tastings and invitations to events.
