Stone Griffon Vineyard, a small, family-owned winery located in the heart of Carlton, Oregon, has been pouring wine since February 2015 from its cozy Main Street tasting room. Founded by Terry and Carol McIntyre, the winery crafts approximately 1,800 cases annually, featuring a curated selection of 12 distinct vintages and varietals that showcase the best of Oregon wine country. The McIntyres' love affair with Oregon began in the mid-1970s, and after apprenticing with local winemakers, Terry developed his hands-on, artistic style guided by practical wisdom and traditional techniques. Their estate vineyard was established when Terry rescued 550 Tempranillo vines from a local winery's compost pile, which they planted on their Carlton property in the early 2000s. The winery's signature varietals include Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, and Tempranillo, with notable releases such as the Carol Jean Estate Reserve Pinot Noir and the 2012 Tempranillo. Each wine is a reflection of the McIntyres' history, passions, and sense of place, making every bottle a personal story.
