Stonewall Creek Vineyards

Stonewall Creek Vineyards is a Georgia winery located in Rabun County, known for its estate-grown wines. The vineyard began in 2004 when Carl and Carla Fackler purchased the property and planted the first 150 Malbec vines in 2005. Over the years, the Diehls have continued to expand and improve the vineyard, adding new grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc and Petit Manseng. In 2018, Mark Diehl and his family acquired the majority interest in Stonewall Creek Vineyards from the Facklers, marking a significant milestone for the winery. The winery's signature varietal is Malbec, with notable harvests including 450 lbs in 2008 and 1,330 lbs of Traminette grapes in 2018. The Diehls have implemented various experiments and improvements to their vineyard management practices, including UGA trellis, pruning, and leaf removal trials. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings at the Tasting Room, which was added in 2014, and participate in annual events such as the Harvest Stomp and Solar Eclipse party. The winery's atmosphere is described as picturesque, with beautiful views of the vineyard during the fall season.
