Sugar Creek Winery & Vineyards is a family-owned winery located in Defiance, Missouri, overlooking the broad Missouri River Valley. Founded by Ken and Becky Miller in 1994, after purchasing the former Boone Country Winery, the winery was born from their love of wine and frequent trips to Missouri's wine country. Their son, Chris Lorch, joined as winemaker and director of operations, bringing his expertise honed in Napa Valley, California, where he developed award-winning wines that showcase Sugar Creek's quality. The winery is known for its dry wines, including Vidal Blanc, fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel, resulting in a crisp finish with fruit-forward notes of pears and apricots. This wine is touted as the family's answer to Pinot Grigio. When visiting Sugar Creek Winery & Vineyards, guests become part of their family, where every drop of wine has been carefully tended by those who own the land and live there, emphasizing a personal connection between grape, people, and wine.
