Sweetland Orchard

Sweetland Orchard is a Minnesota orchard cidery that began making cider in 2010 when the orchard was bought and started selling cider in 2012. They work with more than 100 apple varieties grown on the farm, plus pears and tart cherries, making tart, dry ciders that split the difference between Minnesota acidity and British tannic styles. Their lineup includes Scrumpy Original, the single-variety Northern Spy, the cherry-rhubarb cider that started as a whim, and Borealis Winter Reserve, an ice cider concentrated through freezing Minnesota weather and fermented to around 13.5% ABV. They also distill their own apple brandy and use it in blends like Wassail, and release experimental small batches under the Roundabout label. The farm is open weekends in the fall with no entrance fee. Visitors can stroll the orchard, buy pre-picked apples and cider donuts, reserve tasting kits for cider and apple flights, or join an orchard tour. Saturday evenings bring Family Fun Night with bonfire-roasted sausages and a s'mores bar. Picnic tables and orchard walks are available, and leashed dogs are welcome.
