The Blue Beryl Winery

The Blue Beryl Winery is an estate-grown, estate-made boutique winery at the base of Mt. Garfield in Palisade, Colorado. Winemaker Courtney Kiel, who was born and raised in the house where the vineyard now sits, planted the vines in 2011 with her family and released her first wine under the Blue Beryl label, a Malbec, in 2019. She holds a BFA in oil painting and designs the labels herself. The winery focuses on traditional dry wines with a local Palisade character. The lineup includes whites such as Orange Muscat and Chenin Blanc, and reds including Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and King's Blend, a Bordeaux-style blend of equal parts Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec. Several reds are aged in French oak. Tastings are first-come, first-served at the tasting room. Visitors may bring their own picnic to enjoy on the lawn or patio, and leashed dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas. The winery also hosts private events.
