The Fox Barn Marketplace & Winery

The Fox Barn Marketplace & Winery sits on the Fox family farm in Shelby, Michigan, about 1.5 miles south of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. The business began in 2005 when Kellie and Todd Fox started selling asparagus, cherries, peaches, pears, and apples from a barn that had stored farm equipment for decades. Wine and cider followed in 2008, made with fruit grown on the family-owned acres. The tasting room occupies a barn believed to date to the 1890s. After a 2007 restoration that replaced the roof and siding, the interior was fitted with a pine floor and a tasting bar, while the basement became the winemaking area. Visitors can taste wines and ciders at the bar or on the patio overlooking the orchards and vineyard. The property also hosts live music on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
