The Malibu Winery

The Malibu Winery is a family-owned winery located in the Saddle Rock Malibu AVA within the Santa Monica Mountains. The Semler family has a long history with the property, which dates back over 300 years to its origins as part of the Spanish Land Grant known as El Malibu. After purchasing the land in 1978, Ron and Lisa Semler gradually expanded their holdings to create a 1,100-acre ranch that now features over 70 acres of hillside vineyards with approximately 70,000 vines and twelve varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery is known for its Saddlerock and Saddlerock Estate wines, which are selected to capture the character and flavor of the California coast. Visitors can experience unique tasting experiences and events at the historic building turned wine tasting room, which also features a rotating selection of local craft beers on tap. Reservations are recommended for tastings, and guests can enjoy creative experiences and seasonal pop-ups in the Beer Garden. The winery's atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a focus on family tradition and a deep connection to the land and its history.
