The Portland Wine Bar and Winery

The Portland Wine Bar and Winery, located in downtown Portland, Oregon, is a small-batch urban winery known for its locally made wines. Founded by a former Air Force pilot and engineer, the winery began as Bodhichitta Winery in 2008, producing Oregon Pinot noir from grapes grown at Black Dog Vineyard, which was later acquired in Summer 2021. The winery's focus on small fermentations and batches results in high-quality wines, with red ferments done in 1-ton tanks and oak barrels sourced from France. In addition to its signature Pinot noirs, the winery produces Big Reds from Southern Oregon's Applegate Valley, Washington State's Red Mountain and Horse Heaven Hills AVAs, and other regions. The tasting room, also located in downtown Portland, offers a wide range of reds, including Barbera, Mourvèdre, and Cabernet sauvignon, as well as a rotating selection of local wines from Oregon and Washington grapes. The winery's production facility is based at The Winery at Manzanita on the Oregon Coast, just 1.5 hours from Portland.
