Thirsty Farmer Winery & Vineyard

Michael and Savannah Ray founded Thirsty Farmer Winery & Vineyard in their hometown of Calhoun, Louisiana, aiming to create a locally crafted Louisiana wine experience. The family-owned winery planted its first vineyard block in 2016 and expanded in 2018 and 2020, pioneering newer varietals such as Caminnare' Noir and Ambulo Blanc. Its lineup includes fruit-forward wines, bold reds, and hard cider, produced with a farm-to-bottle approach. Guests visit the Calhoun tasting room to taste wines and ciders by the glass, bottle, or flight, with flatbreads and charcuterie available. The setting includes vineyard scenery, and live music takes place every Saturday.
