Trout Lily Ranch

Trout Lily Ranch, located on the south side of the Chehalem Mountains in Oregon's Willamette Valley, has been growing grapes and producing wine since 1976. Founded by Carol and Peter Adams, a native Oregonian couple who planted their vineyard with the intention of creating exceptional Pinot Noir, the winery is known for its Pommard clone of Pinot Noir, which thrives in the Jory clay loam soil mixed with Willakenzie. The Adams family has been involved in every aspect of the winery's operations since its inception, with Carol taking over winemaking duties in 1985 and becoming one of the first female winemakers in the region. After a brief hiatus from production, Trout Lily Ranch was revived in 2008 under the new name and label, with Kelly Kidneigh as winemaker until her departure in 2023. The current winemaking team consists of Jacob Hale, son-in-law to Carol Adams, and Alex Clark. Wine production is now outsourced to Zenith Vineyard in Salem, Oregon. The family-owned vineyard also produces Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay Noir, Trusseau Noir, and Chardonnay, with a focus on sustainable practices. Visitors can experience the winery's tasting room, where Jacob conducts tastings during the spring and summer seasons, and Fanny Adams oversees events and manages the wine club.
