After serving in the army and being stationed in Herlong, California, Tony purchased an abandoned prune orchard in Carneros in 1972 with the intention of planting a vineyard. The site's ideal southwest exposure and unique terroir made it an attractive choice for grape cultivation. Truchard Vineyards is known for its estate-grown wines, which are 100% grown, bottled, and produced on-site. The winery's philosophy emphasizes the importance of family tradition, farming legacy, and a deep connection to the land.
