Trueman Vineyards & Winery

Trueman Vineyards & Winery sits on a 63-acre family farm in Aquasco, Maryland, where the family has lived and worked for at least five generations. They began planting grapes in 2012 and have since grown their vineyard to more than seven acres, cultivating Cabernet Franc, Gruner Veltliner, Merlot, and Traminette chosen for the local climate and soil. The wines are made entirely from grapes grown on the farm. The operation is led by Joel Trueman, who holds a degree in landscape architecture from NC State and oversees both the vineyard and winemaking, while his wife Amanda, who has a PhD in statistics from the same university, manages the business side. Together they run the winery as a fifth-generation family business. Tastings are currently held outdoors in a covered, heated space next to the processing facility. A permanent tasting room is planned inside a historic tobacco barn, which is being restored to preserve the property's rural character. The farm welcomes families and leashed dogs, and visitors are invited to bring their own snacks or picnic items.
