Turley Wine Cellars

Turley Wine Cellars was founded in 1993 by Larry Turley, a Tennessee-born former emergency room physician who left medicine in 1997 to devote himself full-time to the winery and his family. The project grew from a desire to preserve California's historic vineyards, and the winery has since produced wine from more than 50 different sites, many with vines dating to the late 1800s. Organic farming sits at the heart of Turley's work, with an emphasis on responsibly caring for farmland and waterways while continuing artisanal winemaking traditions. The house focus is Zinfandel, though the portfolio also includes Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Named vineyards include the Pesenti Vineyard, planted in 1924, the Hayne Vineyard, and Frog Farm, the St. Helena estate property. Visitors can taste wines in the tasting room, and a limited selection is offered through the online shop.
