Victor Hugo Vineyards & Winery is a small, family-owned and operated winery located in Paso Robles' Templeton Gap, specializing in hand-crafted lots of wine with intense colors and flavors. The winery's estate vineyard, planted on rugged shale hillsides, utilizes sustainable farming practices and meticulous care to produce high-quality wines. With 78 acres under vine, the property is home to a diverse range of varietals, including Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Viognier, and five Bordeaux reds. The winery's commitment to quality is evident in its limited production approach, which allows for detailed attention to every aspect of the winemaking process. Victor Hugo Winery's owner and winemaker, Vic Roberts, has a long history with Paso Robles, having taken his first position at a local winery in 1982 after earning an enology degree from U.C. Davis. The family's dream of owning their own vineyard and winery began to take shape in 1985 when they planted the initial 15 acres on the Templeton property. Today, visitors can experience the winery's elegant, rich wines through various events and tastings throughout the year, including the Zinfandel Festival, Wine Festival, and Harvest Festival.
