VinRoc

VinRoc is a boutique winery located on the eastern slope of Napa Valley's Atlas Peak, at an elevation of 1600 feet above the fog line. The winery's name derives from its rock-strewn mountain vineyard and rock-hewn wine cave, which provides a consistent temperature and humidity ideal for aging their wines. VinRoc is known for producing small yields of highly concentrated fruit, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, which is aged as separate batches in French Oak barrels for two years. Their winemaking style emphasizes intense, complex flavors developed through hands-on labor and love. The vineyards struggle to produce low-yielding grapes due to the volcanic rock and red soil, resulting in wines bursting with dark fruit, graphite, espresso, herbs, lavender, and sweet oak notes. The tasting experience at VinRoc is private and by appointment only, allowing for a personalized tour of their wine cave and vineyard. The winery offers three club membership levels, providing members with allocations of their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon twice a year at varying discounts. Kiky Lee and Michael Parmenter, the proprietors, have dedicated over 25 years to developing VinRoc's unique microclimate, which produces elegant and opulent wines that receive high praise from critics such as Antonio Galloni's Vinous (94 points).
