Weis Vineyards

Weis Vineyards, situated on Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York, is a boutique winery founded by Hans Peter Weis, a German-born winemaker with a family legacy in traditional Mosel-style winemaking. After studying winemaking, business, and agriculture, Peter traveled to the United States, eventually settling in the Finger Lakes, where he found similarities between the region's minerality and climate to his native Germany. Partnering with Ashlee, a local native of Hammondsport, NY, Weis Vineyards produces handcrafted wines showcasing the terroir of the Finger Lakes. The winery has gained recognition, including being named New York State's Winery of the Year in 2022, 2024, and 2025, as well as winning awards for various white wines, including Gruner Veltliner, Rosé, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc. Visitors can enjoy a tasting experience at the winery's schoolhouse tasting room or on the patio, with options for self-guided flights or happy hours with live music.
