Wild Mountain Cellars

Wild Mountain Cellars is a Vail Valley winery in Minturn, Colorado, founded and run by Matthew Deem as owner and winemaker. Deem started making wine with a small club that went commercial, and his approach is old-world, hands-on winemaking using whole grape cluster fermentation. The lineup centers on Rhone blends, Tuscany blends, and varietals, with releases such as Barbera, Old Vine Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Ruby Cabernet, Syrah, and Tempranillo. The tasting room hosts summer wine tastings, wine picnics, and Sangria Saturdays made with Wild Mountain Cellars Barbera Rosé. For winter 2024-2025 the winery is offering a fondue special with a flight of three wines, a glass, Swiss cheese fondue, bread, roasted vegetables, and apple; reservations are strongly recommended. The winery also runs several wine clubs, including the Local's Secret Stash, Chairlift Mingle, Perfect Line, and Face Shot Case Club, with discounts and access to limited releases.
