Xella Winery and Vineyard

Xella Winery and Vineyard is a small family farm winery on nine acres in Laurel Grove, Maryland, owned and operated by Les and Erin Melanson. The Melansons made Southern Maryland their home in 2007 and run the winery as a working farm rooted in the local community. They grow grapes and make wine with biodynamic and regenerative practices in the vineyard and minimal intervention in the cellar, aiming to produce bold, balanced wines that reflect the place. The tasting room and vineyard are open on weekends for wine tastings and wine by the glass or bottle. Visitors can taste a range of wines including Vidal Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chambourcin, and Zinfandel, along with a pear wine made from the farm's own pear trees, sangria, and seasonal offerings such as mulled wine and wine slushies. Children and pets are welcome.
